KS Hybridtec |
|
Principle of the Laser-MIG-Hybrid-Process (LMH)Increasingly, laser hybrid technology is gaining acceptance as a reliable production process in manufacturing industries such as ship-building and the production of cars and railway vehicles.
From the beginning, KUKA Systems have been developing and implementing innovative and customer-oriented cell concepts for these types of application. In particular, hybrid welding (a combination of Laser and MIG/MAG welding) delivers many benefits for applications where thick-walled materials are to be joined.
With the development of the KS HybridTec, KUKA Systems have succeeded in combining the advantages of traditional arc welding and laser beam welding processes. The innovative design allows optimum adaptation to different process and seam configurations due to its flexibility and sensor technology. |
|
Anvantages of the laser-mig-hybrid-process (LMH)
- Higher process speeds, along with excellent seam quality, ensure increased productivity
- The risk of distortion is low due to greatly reduced heat input
- Reworking is reduced to a minimum
- Because of the higher weld penetration of the laser beam, time consuming seam preparation is reduced
