| Using the example of an almost 7,500m² large automated system for the flexible production of goods wagons, which is currently being preassembled in the workshops at the group headquarters in Augsburg, KUKA Systems presented its function packages for inert gas welding and the integration of submerged arc welding units. For the first time in the Russian market submerged arc welding technology is being combined with robot technology in the automation line. Linking robot and submerged arc unit in this way offers maximum flexibility and quality, particularly when welding sheet metal of between 2mm and 100mm thick. Areas of application include build-up welding and joining steels in shipbuilding, railway vehicle construction and agricultural engineering or in heavy commercial and construction vehicles. |
