The casting pattern department produces the polystyrene patterns required for the main bodies of the tools and dies to be cast in a foundry. The principal activities of the casting pattern department are:

• manufacture of polystyrene patterns and molds for tools and dies 
• manufacture of drawing system and visualization patterns 
• manufacture of polystyrene patterns for the main bodies of inspection gauges and measurement locations
  

The casting patterns are created by machining and bonding polystyrene sheets layer by layer. Here, also, the predominant image is one of CAD workstations and CNC pattern milling machines.

The maximum table sizes of the milling machines are:

• 5,000 mm x 2,500 mm
• 6,000 mm x 3,000 mm

Minimized machining allowances ensure rapid throughput during subsequent machining of the tool parts.
