The Tools and Dies Business Unit (KSW) develops and manufactures all kinds of press dies for manufacturing vehicle body and sheet-metal parts in all sizes and degrees of complexity, e.g. inner and outer side panels, doors and hatches, fenders, roofs, structural members or underbody parts.

No matter what the parts – vehicle body panels of steel, high-strength steel or aluminum – we have a high level of expertise in the processing of a wide range of material grades.
In addition to dies for sheet-metal parts from tailored blanks, KSW also develops and manufactures dies for flexible tailor-rolled blanks or high-strength and ultra-high-strength sheet materials.

The following tool and die types are manufactured:

• Drawing dies, single-action and double-action
• Trimming dies and punches
• Forming tools and dies
• Tools and dies with taper slides and/or rotary slides
• Large progressive dies
• Blank cutting tools
• Universal cutting tools
• Near-series prototype tools
• Tools with manually or mechanically/electrically/pneumatically driven changing units
• Hemming tools and fixtures

The tools and dies are used:
- in robot-, feeder- or transfer-automated presses and press lines

Depending on the specific requirements, they are either cast or plate-mounted and are characterized by maintenance-friendly details. The dies are optimized for automated transfer of parts and meet the connection conditions of our customers production systems. Commissioning of the dies on our customers’ production presses is carried out by KSW specialists.
