Automatic cross-tie soldering

KUKA has developed a fully automatic process incorporating special loading and clamping tooling and robot-guided induction soldering.

The complex sequence consisting of cutting the wire, positioning, fixing and soldering is performed in one cell for up to 80 MW.

Soldering, fluxing and bending or creating L-shape cross-ties is carried out within the station. A heat shield is automatically inserted and removed.

An optional vision system for robot guidance is available.
